A checkpoint bypass, also sometimes called a load boundary bypass, occurs when Jak avoids passing through a designated load boundary. This can result in checkpoints not being acquired or game assets not loading in properly.
In the main Jak trilogy, both Jak's character model and the camera can traverse and activate load boundaries. In some cases, the load boundary is only triggered when both the character model and the camera pass through it.
