Shaft Skip

Shaft skip is a minor skip in Jak II that allows Jak to reach the stadium area faster. The skip is used to quickly get to the Defend Stadium mission.

Due to all of the Metal Heads present in Haven City at this point in the game, there is a higher chance that the game will crash when playing on the PlayStation 2. Shaft skip helps reduce the likelihood of a crash by removing the need to load in a lot of the Metal Heads that typically would be present when driving towards the stadium area.

Technical

Loading Palace Shaft from out of bounds while on the zoomer will also load in the load triggers in the adjacent shaft towards Main Town. Jak can then hover over to the adjacent load triggers, fall through them, then land near the airlock causing Main Town to fully load in.
