A percent warp is a type of sequence break that, when performed, updates the game file's progression without regard for certain requisite checkpoints. The term is coined from how the game's completion tracker (measured in percent) is updated after a percent warp is performed. A notable percent warp is Jak II's Mar's Tomb Skip, which advances completion by about 60%. Percent warps may also update collectibles and loadouts, such as giving Jak any weapons that he may be presumed to have at that respective point in the game. Jak may also gain use of the JET Board in a similar way. The use of percent warps is banned in some completionist speedrun categories such as Jak II's All Missions, due to how the technique may disregard "main plot" challenges otherwise required for the route.
