Oranges Skip

Oranges skip is a skip used to bypass having to destroy the orange rotating power spheres in Lava Tube. Typically, Jak is supposed to destroy these power spheres with yellow eco to open a locked door to progress through Lava Tube. However, by hitting the edge of the door frame and performing a well timed jump, the zoomer will launch into the air and allow Jak to go over the locked door. Thus, skipping the oranges.

Oranges skip is a requirement in the Low Eco speedrun category since it skips having to use yellow eco.

Discovery

Kuitar shares a video with Rozer of oranges skip being performed with no eco for the first time.

Oranges skip was discovered by Rozer and Kuitar on August 24, 2018.

Other Notes

Rozer originally put forward the idea of skipping the oranges in the discord, showcasing the spot to jump from, but had not done it successfully with or without eco. (August 24, 2018)

Kuitar not long after managed to successfully skip oranges without any eco using that same jump. (August 24, 2018)
