Klaww Skip is a skip used in most speedrun categories to bypass the boss fight with Klaww and continue into Mountain Pass.

Lava Walk
@media screen {
By ledge grabbing the stone platform in the middle of the boss fight, Jak is able to clip into the lava without dying. Jak can then let go of the ledge and walk through the lava. If Jak performs any actions other than walking while in the lava, the lava will kill him. There is no known way to consistently perform this version of the skip, with most players citing a 1/4 or 1/5 chance of success.

  }
}

Idle Deload
@media screen {
A slower but much more consistent method of skipping Klaww is by using an idle deload. If Jak visits Klaww, triggers the cutscene where Klaww smashes a rock pillar, then navigates to Boggy Swamp and performs and idle deload on a specific rock, Jak will end up respawning at the checkpoint behind Klaww. This puts Jak at the beginning of the Mountain Pass race.

First Phase Klaww Skip
@media screen {
In the lava, there are metallic platforms that, when blue eco is collected, will construct into a bridge that leads to yellow eco to fight Klaww. When in this scattered formation, the metallic platforms can still be walked on by Jak. By performing some precise movement and a boosted uppercut, it is possible to traverse on these platforms and make it to the center island without constructing the bridge. This can all be done while Klaww is in the first phase of his attacks. From here, the player is able to perform the Lava Walk skip method.

}

The first version of this variant involved taking damage and getting a standpoint on a pillar in the lava. The current version uses a boosted uppercut to skip having to stand on the pillar.

This is the fastest version of Klaww Skip and Drunk Cam is guaranteed when racing in Mountain Pass. It has only ever been performed by The_Stellar and Aslov in Any% speedruns.

Original Klaww Skip
}
Lava Walk was first used to skip Klaww by Piggleberry, blahpy & Ouiji. (January 3, 2016)

Later, Boomer performed the first idle deload method. (March 1, 2016)

First Phase
Jazz has a since deleted video of him theorising a way to get past Klaww by jumping on the underside of the boulders he shoots. He didn't manage to pull this off put it was proven possible later. Getting to the middle platform early has no benefit without the use of lava walk as well to get past Klaww, which wasn't known when Jazz made his video. (Late 2014, early 2015?)

Using the metal platforms on the right to get to the yellow eco platform may have been done before Piggleberry, but no earlier footage exists. This was done on the same day, likely earlier, that Lava Walk was discovered. (January 3, 2016)

headstrong's demonstration is the earliest recording we have of someone deliberately doing the full skip. (September 8, 2016)

Ruh's video later showed it was possible to reach the yellow eco platform by jumping on top of the boulders that Klaww shoots. (May 15, 2018)
